Oridermyl ointment

Oridermyl is a medicated ear ointment used to treat ear mites, bacterial, and yeast infections in cats.

Oridermyl is primarily indicated for the treatment of otitis externa in cats and kittens over 8 weeks old and weighing at least 1 kg, caused by ear mites (Otodectes cynotis) and associated secondary bacterial (Staphylococcus spp) or yeast infections  Its multi-action formula combines antiparasitic, antibiotic, antifungal, and anti-inflammatory properties to address multiple causes of ear infections Active Ingredients

• Permethrin: antiparasitic, effective against ear mites
• Nystatin: antifungal, targets yeast infections
• Neomycin sulfate: antibiotic, combats bacterial infections
• Triamcinolone acetonide: corticosteroid, reduces inflammation and irritation

Administration

• The external ear canal should be cleaned before treatment.
• For adult cats, 8 drops (≈0.3 ml) per ear; for kittens, 4 drops (≈0.15 ml per ear).
• Massage the base of the ear to distribute the ointment evenly.
• Treatment is typically once daily for 10 consecutive days, with veterinary follow-up recommended to ensure complete resolution

Safety and Precautions

• Do not use in kittens under 8 weeks or weighing less than 1 kg.
• Avoid use in cats with perforated eardrums, known hypersensitivity to ingredients, or in pregnant/lactating animals
• May cause ear canal irritation; if redness, discomfort, or behavioral changes occur, discontinue and consult a veterinarian
• Both ears should be treated even if only one appears affected, as ear mites are highly contagious
